About the event

Frustrated with the difficulty of outdoor winter composting in our climate? Want to find a different way to deal with your food waste that allows you to compost a wider variety of material? Bokashi composting is a way to deal with kitchen scraps, including meat and dairy. In this one-hour workshop, Paisley Nash-Dooley, will introduce you to bokashi composting and its practice at home.

This Japanese composting technique involves natural fermentation and offers a way for people to manage food scraps. The liquid produced can be used to water houseplants while the food scraps are pre-digested, and can then be composted or buried in the soil to finish. Join local bokashi enthusiasts to learn about the practice and go home with your own bokashi starter kit.
